Snowbeat

An iOS and Android app that teaches users how to play the piano. The app is designed for use with the ROLI Piano hardware range, making use of the hardware’s light up keys for numerous purposes, such as highlighting which key to press next or which keys are available within a scale.

The app features hundreds of songs to learn, a huge number of structured guided music lessons, an AI music coach, goals to achieve, and numerous exercises and games to play.

The ROLI Airwave was later integrated to support hand tracking within the app, allowing us to teach users which fingers to use for each note and flag when they use the incorrect one.

This project was a team effort. I was primarily responsible for the React Native layer, and later the CI/devops work. I also jumped into the C++ layer here and there as needed.
